NFL 2025 season: Week six

Real-time updates features live text for the weekend matchups on various channels, starting with the Broncos-Jets clash in London (kicking off at 2 PM BST). Additionally, radio commentary can be heard through designated networks covering another key matchup (from 21:00 BST).

We're in the sixth week of the NFL season , after last week's talk regarding the Buffalo Bills and Philadelphia Eagles being possible championship contenders, they both lost their unbeaten records.

Notable in those games were the amount of infractions each committed. Philadelphia committed them at crucial times meaning they kind of defeated themselves after leading 17-3 going into the fourth period versus Denver, who play overseas this weekend.

However it proved positive to see that Denver quarterback Bo Nix managed to overcome the shortfall and then direct three successful possessions in three attempts in the fourth quarter, securing the victory by four points.

The Broncos have the top defender with cornerback Pat Surtain II. They rank number one in goal-line defense, while the Eagles are number one in red zone offence, and Denver won that battle.

They had effective strategies regarding simulated pressure. They weren't always sending extra defenders but they might plug two LBs in the interior then drop them out and send a slot defender from the outside.

Early on in the campaign, we said during a show how Denver might emerge as the current year's dark horses. They ended last season well and excelled of building upon that.

Are the Denver Broncos this year's dark horses?

Recently acquired tight end Evan Engram has excelled big and recent running back their rusher is a guy they believe in. He now ranks 5th league-wide for rushing yards (over 400) as well as tied for fourth in rushing scores (four).

It's impressive how the coach Sean Payton has "RUSH!" at the top of his playcall sheet.

This demonstrates that Denver are a team that wants to prioritize the run, because one can achieve much based on that approach. It reduces opposing rushes and maintains in positive situations.

This has benefited quarterback Bo Nix, who came into the league as a first-round selection in the prior draft, throwing 29 touchdown passes – second only to Justin Herbert for the rookie record (31 back in 2020).

Josh Allen and Herbert possess powerful arms to pass all over, however they lack the mobility that Nix has. He boasts exceptional passing ability, a unique trait, and he is so athletic.

His assets are his movement, the capacity to throw on the run, as well as using varied release points to deliver throws when he rolls out of the pocket, the bootlegs. He is able to deliver that layered pass over the middle and over the corner.

As a rookie QB, aged 25, he's got a lot of poise under pressure and is not really fazed by the blitz. He aims to evade a sack as much as possible and can throw under pressure. He has sharp intelligence and remains quick to decide.

When you consistently run the ball it eats up time and makes the opponent to stay on the field extended periods, and when you've got a mobile QB the defence has to defend the area vertically side to side. It can be draining.

Nix has bitten back with the coach on the sideline sometimes and I think Payton likes that attitude, seeing him as such a competitor. In my view it's exciting for the coach to coach a young quarterback who's kind of like moldable clay. The coach can truly build something up the way he wants to build it. I believe it's a special experience for him.

The head coach has won a championship and now passed Bill Parcells for career NFL wins (173 - tied 14th overall). He has witnessed it all. I think the achievements Denver are having offensively is mostly down to his leadership, his play-calling, his game sense – and the pairing with the QB helps make him into who he is.

There's no better a better guy in your ear, to assist you during difficult moments and build self-belief.

I believe in the Broncos' defense, in Bo Nix's tenacity and composure. Yet are they good enough to go against an elite team at full strength? Since that was not championship-level play from Philadelphia in their last game.

Right now, it's unlikely the Broncos are incredible. They're performing better than most, that's a good place to hold their division. The key to do to continue this trajectory.

They're really good at leaning into their forte, that is the ground game, and that's precisely what they should do against the Jets in London. It's going to be the JK Dobbins show, essentially.

The Jets have allowed 140 yards on the ground each contest (among the worst), five ground scores this season (10th worst), and they are the sole squad yet to win any game.

Ever since the NFL began tracking takeaways decades ago, this team are also the inaugural squad to be without a single takeaway through five games, this is surprising when you think that the head coach was previously defensive co-ordinator at the Detroit Lions.

Patrick Mahomes says Kansas City have 'already lost too many games' after Monday's defeat to Jacksonville.

Following this Sunday's game, the Broncos face a smooth-ish schedule up to their break (in week twelve) - the New York Giants, the Cowboys, Houston Texans and Las Vegas Raiders before the Chiefs.

In their division, the Chiefs are 2-3 and the Broncos are tied with the Los Angeles Chargers on 3-2 meaning they could make a run for the top of the West.

It depends upon what version Kansas City shows up they face since Denver {beat|def
