Salah Extends Statement to Teammates, Discloses Curtis Jones
The Liverpool midfielder has shared that Salah expressed regret to the team in the wake of the uproar from his recent interview.
What Happened
The striker was dropped from a key Champions League match subsequent to making accusations and suggesting his connection to the head coach had deteriorated.
“Mo is his own man and he can say his own stuff,” Jones revealed. “He apologised to us and was like: ‘If my words hurt anyone, please accept my apology.’”
The manager has chosen not to comment publicly on whether he was apologised to from the veteran striker.
Looking Ahead
Jones insisted that the team's response remained positive. “He was his usual self, his demeanour was positive and we all treated him normally,” the midfielder explained.
The midfielder also suggested that a teammate fighting for a place is a positive trait. “It's clear there are specific approaches you can handle situations,” he said. “But if a lad’s fine to just not start, then I think that’s concerning.”
Team Form
Their results have been impressive in the period after the situation. He feels the Salah's words were not intended to destabilise the squad.
“When there’s been any sort of anger, it’s always been from a good place,” Jones concluded. “It's behind us and we’re building chemistry, playing well and securing victories.”
