Two-time heavyweight champion Joshua Discharged from Medical Facility in Lagos Following Tragic Car Crash

Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, local government spokespeople stated on Wednesday evening. The athlete was involved in a car accident near Lagos on Monday, a tragic incident that took the lives of two of his close associates.

Healing from Light Wounds

Joshua had remained in the hospital while healing from his light wounds, representatives confirmed on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update online that Joshua was judged healthy enough to continue his recovery at home.

“Anthony and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two deceased friends as they were being made ready for the journey back,” the commissioner stated.

Honoring the Deceased

The victims of the crash were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. Omotoso added that the boxer was “heavy-hearted and full of emotions over the passing of his two dear friends.”

The news of his discharge arrives after the sports world offered sympathy for the fighter in the wake of the heartbreaking incident.
